Step 1: Product Specification Confirmation

Confirm dimming type (leading/trailing edge), input/output voltage, current, wattage, housing type, certifications (CE, UL, etc.).

Step 2: PCB Layout DesignPCB

Convert schematic into PCB layout using CAD software; ensure thermal and EMC considerations are met.

Step 3: SMT Process (Surface Mount Technology)

Apply solder paste, place components using pick-and-place machine, and reflow solder the PCB.

Step 4: DIP Process (Through-Hole Insertion)

Insert transformers, coils, connectors, and larger capacitors; solder using wave soldering or manual method.

Step 5: AOI Inspection (Automated Optical Inspection)

Check for missing, misaligned, or poorly soldered components post-SMT/DIP.

Step 6: Electrical Function Test

Full function test for voltage, current, dimming performance, short circuit, and open load protection.

Step 7: Assembly of Housing and Heat Sink

Fix the PCB into the flame-retardant plastic or aluminum casing; apply thermal pads or paste if needed.

Step 8: Burn-In Test

Operate under high temperature and full load (45–55°C) for 2–4 hours to identify early failures.

Step 9: Labeling & Quality Inspection

Apply product labels (specs, logo, certifications); perform visual and dimensional checks.

Step 10: Packaging

Place unit in branded inner box with instruction manual; pack into cartons with appropriate protection and labeling.

Output Voltage Test

Verify that the driver provides the correct DC output voltage (e.g. 12V, 24V) under no-load and full-load conditions.

Output Current Test

Confirm constant current regulation matches the rated specification (e.g. 300mA, 700mA).

Power Factor (PF) Test

Ensure PF is ≥0.95 at full load per EU and North American standards.

TRIAC Dimmer Compatibility Test

Test with various leading /trailing edge dimmers (e.g., Lutron, Leviton, Clipsal) to ensure smooth dimming and no flicker.

Dimming Range Test

Verify dimming curve from 100% to minimum output (often 10% or lower) without dropouts or cutoff.

Burn-In Test

Operate driver under full load and elevated temperature (typically 45–55°C) for 2–4 hours to detect early failures.

Place driver housing or terminals in 5% NaCl fog chamber for 48–96 hours. Check for corrosion resistance of external metal parts or screws.

Drop Test

Drop packaged unit from 1 meter on all sides/corners to confirm mechanical robustness.

Transport Vibration Test

Simulate logistic vibration to ensure product survives shipping without internal loosening.
